Honeybee Swarm and Hive Removal Resources

Who To Contact

During the summers, our 800+ hive operation keeps us on our toes. Because of this we are unable to offer bee service removals. We have resourced a couple of options by dedicated beekeepers. Tri City Bee Rescue and Ontario Bee Rescue are great options! (as they are also registered with the Ontario Beekeepers Association.)

If you cannot find your location that is covered by these two rescue programs, you can check this list of Local Beekeeper Associations throughout Ontario. Some regional associations will request their members for a swarm or colony removal to see if they are interested and/or available.

Land Owners with Swarms

If you are a land owner with some of our hives on your property, please contact Mike or contact the store during our opening hours at 519-662-3165.

Why Do Bees Swarm and What To Do

Hives tend to swarm in the summer when the bees begin to outgrow their space and try to split their colony. Scout bees will search for a new home either temporarily or permanently. If temporary the swarm will leave in a day or two. The hive will then follow to that location.

If bees are stationary in walls or other nooks and crannies, please send us photos of this so we can determine the best case scenario for them.
